Meet the Founder:
Saritha Wolff
Hi there, I'm Saritha and I started my career in the Tzaneen Fire Department in 1994. I was the first woman in South Africa who obtained the Graduate Level of the Institution of Fire Engineers by examination.
I am a Fire Investigation Technician with the International Association of Arson Investigators, as well as the secretary and treasurer of the IAAI Africa branch.
I started Accu-SCIENCE to assisting fire-fighters in preparing for examinations that are required to get a promotion in rank.
We specialize in Fire Science and Fire Safety, but also have in-depth knowledge of Fire Investigation and the other subjects required to complete qualifications by examination
We exist to assist students with their preparation for fire service and fire engineering examinations.
The Accu-SHERQ Story
Accu-SHERQ started on 1 February 2017 as a risk consultancy. In May 2018, I was asked to assist a person with fire science and act as a tutor in preparation for his exam. I compiled the tutoring material based on the Institution of Fire Engineers' syllabus as well as the syllabus of the South African Emergency Services Institute. We then realized that science is science, regardless of language and geographical location.
Our first physical class course was conducted in Namibia for a delegation of the City of Windhoek Fire and Rescue Services. After that experience, we realised that the program can easily be transferred to an online course with contact sessions. Although it can so easily be totally remote, we believe that every student needs to know that there is a person behind the screen that can be contacted to assist when needed.
